I often have a smoothie for breakfast because it’s fast, easy and just makes me feel energized all day long. It’s also one of my favorite vegan post-workout snacks for those same reasons! But, when you make the same plant-based smoothie every single morning the love for vegan smoothies can start to fade. The answer is to mix it up with this dessert-flavoured Vegan Key Lime Pie Smoothie!
This can actually be considered a vegan greens smoothie because of the added spinach. If you’re not a fan of powerful green plant smoothies, don’t worry you can’t even taste the spinach in this one. It’s an adult and kid-friendly vegan breakfast idea or snack that’s gluten-free and packed full of protein and veggies.
You will love this Vegan Key Lime Pie Smoothie, it’s so delicious and you can make it at home!
Can I use bottled lime juice instead of fresh lime juice?
Yes, you absolutely can. I’ve tried it and the flavour is still on point!
Can I use almond milk instead of coconut milk?
Yes, any plant milk can be substituted for coconut milk. Although the consistency won’t be quite as decadent and creamy, it’s still a delicious substitute in this recipe.
What if I don’t like protein powder?
If you aren’t adding the vanilla protein powder, sub in ¼ tsp of vanilla extract to this plant-based dessert smoothie.
