1tbspsesame oil (olive works if you can't do sesame)
½cupsoy sauce (tamari for GF)
2tbsppure maple syrup
3tbsplight brown sugar
1tbspgrated fresh ginger
2clovesminced garlic
1tsphot chili flakes(or more to taste)
Cornstarch Slurry
4tspcornstarch
4tspcold water
Instructions
Add the oil, soy sauce, water, sugar, maple syrup, garlic, ginger and hot chili flakes to a medium saucepan.
Bring to a boil while stirring. Reduce to a simmer.
Make the cornstarch slurry by mixing together the cornstarch and cold water.
Add the cornstarch slurry into the pot, stir in and let simmer for at least 5 minutes until it thickens. Stir occasionally to make sure it doesn't stick.
Remove from heat, and let cool. Top with sesame seeds if you want a little garnish.
